Territorial Master Plans

The update of the spatial master plan for watercourses and flood protection of the city of Bratislava is a spatial planning document that serves as the basis for the creation and updating of spatial planning documentation, for processing of the city's new spatial plan and as guidance for investment activities in Bratislava. It contains a detailed passporting of watercourses, water areas and flood protection, an assessment of risk factors, a proposal for rainfall water management taking into account further urbanisation, as well as climate change occurring in the Central European area. The master plan takes into account the latest trends in flood protection and watercourse regime under the conditions of ongoing climate change. It systematises the issues of watercourses and flood protection in relation to related legislation, current national and regional concepts of watercourses and flood protection, taking into account the needs and potential of the city and sets the limits for its new development. The clean copy of the Update of the Spatial Master Plan of Watercourses and Flood Protection of Bratislava, 2022, was acknowledged by Resolution of Bratislava City Council No. 1394/2022 of 29 September 2022. The document was drafted by Hydrocoop, spol. s r. o. The Update of the Spatial Master Plan for Watercourses and Flood Protection of Bratislava was developed on the basis of a negotiated assignment prepared by the Spatial Planning Section of the Metropolitan Institute Bratislava in 2017.
